This is what I call good riddance to bad rubbish. No fewer than 157 officers of Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, have been dismissed from service over various offences.
The sacked officers were alleged to be involved in cases of corruption, certificate forgery, bribery and dereliction of duty, among others.
The dismissed officers, whose pictures were published in the Lagos State News Letter, Alausa Alert, were made to face Personnel Management Board, PMB, the disciplinary organ of the government, to prove their innocence, to no avail.
The Civil Service Commission subsequently issued sacked letters to the affected officers.
It was gathered that the names of 50 LASTMA officers had been forwarded to PMB over alleged gross misconduct.
I seriously hope this will teach the remaining ones a lesson. Maybe that is why I did not see that notorious LASTMA guy at the entrance of Bonny Camp in VI this morning....hmmm. Fashola is working!
