Solange Knowles celebrated her 28th birthday on yesterday with her boyfriend of five years.
It was a double celebration for her as her 51-year-old video producer boyfriend Alan Ferguson proposed to her on Monday.
Meanwhile Solange who was married to Daniel Smith, her high school sweetheart and the father of her son Daniel Julez, from 2004 to 2007 when they divorced.
The pair wed in the Bahamas in February 2004, when Solange was just 17 and pregnant with their son.
Despite their split, Solange has nothing but praise for her ex.
'We co-parent really well,' she said. 'I'm able to say, "I need to finish this album, can you step up and take care of the boy?"'
