Question of the day: Should A Blind Man Care About A Partner's Looks?

While listening to a relationship radio programme yesterday, a message from a blind man who needs a relationship that will lead to marriage was read. He said that the lady should be beautiful and tall.

Why care about something you can't see? Dunno! Maybe you guys should enlighten me.

    I can think of four reasons. One, a beautiful and tall woman will be more likely to give him more attractive and taller children. Two, a beautiful woman will enhance his status and reputation with other men and with other women (some of whom may be future partners for the blind man). Three, beauty affects how other people treat a woman. If she works, she is may be more successful in her career. As a couple, they will be treated better when they are out in public and will be treated better socially. Fourth, attractiveness affects a person's self-esteem and personality. A beautiful woman can sometimes be more self-confident than a plain woman -- or she can be a total mess!
